My dad has always been the first to give everyone their first pumpkin each fall. It’s a long family tradition. Of course I messed that up, five years ago, when we moved to California. So each year he sends me a gift certificate to Green Acres, our local nursery.
This year I took my macro lens with me on my pumpkin search at their Folsom store.
I love holiday traditions, even when they need to be tweaked or updated as the years progress. It’s always the love behind it that makes it worthwhile.
sidenote: I *might* have stalked this sweet mama and her son as they shopped through all the garden and seasonal treasures. He reminded me so much of my own son. I’m sure none of this is influenced by the fact that I’m expecting my first grandchild/son this February!
